Point of care ultrasound is rapidly becoming a powerful and effective diagnostic tool to aid the delivery of primary care services; particularly for GPs in rural and remote communities with limited access to specialist health care infrastructure. As ultrasound equipment is becoming more cost-effective, compact, versatile and powerful the benefits in primary care settings are considerable.
This ALM will give general practice registrars and rural & remote GP’s the opportunity to identify practical applications of ultrasound technology in rural general practice settings and utilise point of care ultrasound devices under the guidance of expert sonographers.
This ALM is pre-approved for a 1-day Rural Procedural Grant for those eligible in either of the Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia, or Obstetric components.
This ALM will cost $315 inc GST.
